Celebrate Radio And Win A Book!

Share

Our segment on American Patchwork and Quilting Radio is today! You can listen live at 4 p.m. ET or wait for the recording to be posted. Click here to listen. We had so much fun chatting with Pat Sloan, that we wanted to celebrate the show with you. Pat asked us a lot of questions about our book, Furoshiki Fabric Wraps: Simple, Reusable, Beautiful.

Furoshiki means "bath spread"
Furoshiki means “bath spread”

She was very intrigued with the idea of taking a square of fabric (you can tell she knows her audience well!) and wrapping it just right to carry a boatload of stuff. And, if you wrapped just right, you could carry the boat, too! Anyway, we’d love to know what you would want to wrap up. Just leave a comment on what you would wrap up by Monday, May 27, 2013. We’ll draw a name from all the entries and give away a copy of our book. Can’t wait to hear what you have to say!

  1. I would wrap the small gold and topaz heart that my mother gave me for my 15th birthday and give it to my only granddaughter who turned 15 on May 1.

  2. I would like to wrap a box of hugs and kisses for my husband for our 46th anniversary this month.

    • Congratulations on 46 years, Francyne. My mom gave my brother a wrapped “box of kisses” when he was about 7. It did not go over well. I’m sure your husband will like it much better.

  3. I have Japanese serving ware, dishes, and decorations in my home. I would use the wrap when taking food to a gathering to share what the wrap was traditionally were used for. Spread the word about Furoshiki Fabric Wraps!

    • Thanks, Nancy! Taking food to sewing guild potlucks is what got us to thinking we should write a book.

  4. I would give the book to a very sick quilting friend who has been in the ER several times this week. I am sure it would cheer her up and give her something to look forward to.

    • I hope your friend gets well soon. Maybe you could wrap a couple of fat quarters in her favorite color.

  5. I would wrap your book and give it to my 10 year old granddaughter. She has been wrapping her gifts to the family in various doll blankets since she was two.

  6. I loved your segment on Pat’s show and am very intrigued by your book! I would love to try to wrap the 2 bottles of wine you talked about – I’d be so stylish walking into my local BYOB!! o:) Thanks for the chance to win!

  7. Can you do a bouquet of flowers? I imagine that may be a little more challenging. The two things that I give the most are wine and quilts, not necessarily to the same person (although you never know!!). Such a clever idea the fabric wrapping is! I enjoyed your segment on Pat Sloan’s show, which is why I came to your website. Thanks for the chance at the great giveaway.

    • What a great idea, Nancy. I think you could use a modified one-bottle wrap to wrap a bouquet of flowers. We’ve also wrapped flowers in a vase with the ruffled one-bottle wrap.

  8. I am so inspired by the things that you have shown us how to do. I would wrap a bottle of wine to take to a dinner party.

  9. I think it would be great to wrap birthday presents and maybe some Christmas presents for my quilting friends.

  10. My husband’s new motorcycle jacket. It’s an anniversary gift. We’ve been married for 32 years.

  11. I think that I would like to wrap the quilt I am making for my daughter with fabric. Maybe it will give her a hint to start quilting too. Thanks for the chance to win!

  12. I would wrap my daughter’s birthday present, because I know when she gives me mine she would reuse it to wrap my present!

  13. Oh what a great idea and it would be perfect for someone that crafts to receive a gift of goodies wrapped in fabric. It would be a great way to help a beginner get their stash going as well. Thanks for the chance to win.

  14. Thanks to all of you for your great ideas! We will draw a name and post it by tomorrow (we just returned home from Quilt National ’13!)
