Stephen Sondheim Is Right – Buy Art!

Share

“Advancing art is easy, financing it is not.” This is the ugly truth that is as relevant today as when Stephen Sondheim set these words to music in his 1984 musical, Sunday in the Park with George. Yes, that’s George of Georges Seurat fame, and the musical delves into Seurat’s famous painting, Un dimanche après-midi à l’Île de la Grande Jatte (1884-1886).

Since SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) is in the midst of its 2013 Benefit Auction, we’d thought we’d give this great organization a plug to help finance what it does so well: promote the art quilt and the artists who make them. Here are four great pieces that are still available for sale as we write this. And to think we just started with fruit! Why don’t you see what you can find at the SAQA 2013 Benefit Auction!

P.S. Our quilt will be auctioned off at IQF (International Quilt Festival) Houston! Look at Page a of the Houston quilts.
