Celebrating Wayne Thiebaud and Rev. Desmond Tutu

Last week, Wayne Thiebaud and Rev. Desmond Tutu passed away at the ripe old ages of 101 and 90 respectively. Thiebaud was a professor of art at nearby University of California, Davis, so we had ample opportunity to view and admire his work. Rev. Tutu, half a world away, influenced us with his call for peaceful reconciliation. While they worked in two different fields, Thiebaud and Tutu both worked with passion. And, while we understand that genetics and lifestyle play a role in people’s longevity, we’d like to think it was their passion for what they did that kept them going for so long. As we enter 2022, may we all work passionately to make the world a better place as Thiebaud and Tutu did.
