Kris’ 2019 SAQA Dream Collection

I generally don’t like the end of summer, but one thing that helps ease my pain is looking forward to the annual SAQA Benefit Auction, which begins Sep 13 this year. SAQA invites everyone to create their dream collection, the eight pieces we would “take” home with us in a perfect world. Deb and I love to create our own dream collections. We don’t do this together; it’s our time to just choose what each of us likes and not have to compromise! Deb will post her collection next week.

Inspiration

I recently rearranged my office. Now when I look up from the computer screen, I see Mary Hargrave‘s “Box of Bras” on the wall. I love this piece and not just because it’s full of Barbie torsos. I always notice the grid-like box they sit in. So I got to wondering if I could find eight auction pieces that had a grid on them. Oh, my fellow SAQA peeps did not disappoint! In fact, I had to eliminate several pieces because you can only choose eight. That’s really the hard part of the exercise.

P.S.

If you were wondering if the Pixeladies donated a piece to the auction, the answer is yes! Here it is. You can also see it peeking out of the top left-hand corner of SAQA’s Dream Collection ad at the top of the post. We were tickled to see that! We hope you find a piece you will take home!
