Studio Art Quilts Associates (SAQA) holds a benefit auction every September to raise money for exhibitions and to further education of the art quilt. I really like the movement as well as the texture in this piece.

The movement in this piece also spoke to me. I also think the hand beading adds to the overall look.

In the beginning, it was the aqua color that attracted my attention to all these pieces, but now I see how strong the movement is in most of the pieces.

The oranges complement the aquas and blues so well in this piece, but I’m also struck by the grid pattern and the different doors and windows.

The layering of the individual fabrics was done to great effect. And, yes, I see the flow!

Most of the pieces in my dream collection have a spattering of a complementary color, but I like the monochromatic leanings of this piece.

Talk about complementary colors! I usually don’t pick bird pieces, but I loved their expressions, and the quilting really adds dimension to the birds.
Terry Aske, Aqua Flow
It was the “flow” that got me in this piece, the first one I chose for my dream collection. I just love the whimsical center fabric. Upon closer inspection, I loved how the quilting . . . in direction and color . . . is what really makes this piece stand out.
