Oops, They Did It Again: Adobe Organizer’s Category Glitch

Share

We are simply dumbfounded. When Photoshop Element’s 2020 version came out, we checked the Category feature of Organizer. It had been broken since about Version 15. Yay! Adobe had fixed the issue. You could change a sub-category into a category as the Adobe manual describes. But when we checked a couple of weeks ago, it wasn’t working. It just makes you wanna go all Andy Warhol! So what’s going on?

The Problem

You should be able to right-click on a sub-category, click Edit, and then choose “None (Convert to Category)” to convert it. It seems during one of Adobe’s recent updates, it broke this feature . . . again! Seriously. We’re almost apoplectic here in Pixeladyland.

The Solution

Well, lucky us. We had figured out a workaround for the last time we taught the Organizer class. Click here to read that blog post for the workaround. It’s a bit of a pain, but at least you can keep developing your organizing system, which is the most important part of Organizer!

Please note: Deb is a beta tester for Adobe Photoshop Elements and will report this issue to the powers that be . . . again!
